Being Realistic When You Have Prediabetes

Do you want to know what the biggest issue is with having Prediabetes?

Nope, nope, nope and nope!

The biggest issue with Prediabetes is Impatience!

And the reason for this impatience is being UNREALISTIC and expecting things to change quickly.

I know. That isn't the most encouraging thing to hear right now. But the truth is... 

You have to get back to reality, and the sooner the better! 

Why? Because Being Realistic When You Have Prediabetes means saving yourself from:

  • Days of beating yourself up
  • Weeks of feeling stressed out
  • Months of generally being in a never-ending bad mood
  • check
    Freaking out when you really don’t need to

I meet with a lot of ladies who have Prediabetes and Insulin Resistance. And over and over again, so many of these ladies really do themselves a super-duper, big disservice.

These ladies want results, and they want them like yesterday!

And if nothing happens in a few weeks or a month...they totally give up and get mad!

Why does this happen?

Impatience!

Impatience is the tendency to be the impatient, irritable or restless. And I see ladies suffering from these negative effects of Impatience almost every day.

The problem with being impatient is you’re NOT living in reality.

Being Realistic When You Have Prediabetes

So, what is reality? Well, for starters, you didn’t get:

  • Obesity
  • Prediabetes 
  • Insulin Resistance

OR

  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol
  • High Triglycerides

in a few weeks or months!

AND you certainly won’t fix all of these things in a few weeks either. And for most ladies it takes more than a few months too!

How Did You Get Prediabetes Anyway?

For most women, a lifetime of a whole bunch of issues – food, exercise/activity, sleep, meds, stress, epigenetics, weight gain, etc. – has brought them into the Prediabetes and Insulin Resistance zone – and it takes a while to get out of it.

If you want to live in reality, you HAVE TO ACCEPT that it will take at least a YEAR for you to see significant improvement, and perhaps Prediabetes reversal.

For the ladies I know that stick with the lifestyle and diet changes, they are rewarded with blood tests that show ALL IS OK. (This means they don’t have Prediabetes anymore! YIPPEE!!)

BUT!

For the ladies that don’t stick with the lifestyle and diet changes, they just get depressed, and mad, and their Prediabetes stalls or gets worse!

Here are 2 tips so you’ll stay in reality and exercise PATIENCE when it comes to getting your:

  • Blood Sugar Under Control
  • Your Body Back to A Healthy Weight
  • Your Cholesterol Back to Normal
  • Your Blood Pressure Out of The Danger Zone

Tip #1: Learn How to Journal

Journaling helps you see your progress over time. 

It also helps you to keep track of what you’re doing.

Best of all, it's as simple as this:

  • Buy a fancy-dancy looking journal and 2 colored highlighters. One pink and one green.
  • Write in your Journal everyday (bedtime works best). Log what went well AND what didn’t go so well.

The secret to Journaling is to keep doing it. To not stop. To make it a habit.

The power of Journaling comes when you look back at what you've written and highlighted. That's when you'll see you really are making progress. And that's also when you'll spot areas you need to keep working on.

So don't delay: go out and get your Journal and those 2 highlighters today...then make your first entry tonight!
