Smoothie Recipe for Prediabetes

Smoothie Recipe for Prediabetes: YUM! YUM! Smoothie

There is nothing like a frosty chocolate smoothie you can eat with a spoon. Turns out this Smoothie Recipe for Prediabetes is healthy too…even if you have blood sugar issues! Read on to learn how to make it…

This smoothie is soon to become a family favorite! A little sweet, protein, fiber and fat…tastes like a chocolate milkshake too!

My kid and husband are addicted to them. We call this smoothie a Yum! Yum!. So if you’re ever at my house and I ask you if you want a Yum! Yum!..you will know what I’m talking about!

Yum! Yum! Chocolate Smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana [resistant starch, fiber, complex carbs]
  • 1 cup unsweetened soy milk (SILK)…[protein]
  • ½ avocado…[healthy fat]
  • 1 TBSP cacao powder…[a little fat, lots of fiber and tons of yumminess]

Blend well. Don’t use a frozen banana if your blender isn’t able to handle it! Check first.

If you have a Vitamix or Blendtec blender — blend your frozen banana with gusto!

And that’s it!

If you use a whole-frozen-banana, it’ll turn into a frosty and you’ll need a spoon to eat it… which seems to make my sister-in law quite happy. Last time I made her one she was in the kitchen, humming a happy tune, with a spatula…. scraping out every last molecule from my Vitamix blender…I barely had to clean it!

But remember, use a banana just past green, not spotty, or worse — totally brown (a brown banana is just a pile of mushy sugar).

Banana Resistant Starch

This is what I use to make my Yum! Yum!. Works like a charm! It also makes Sugar-Free Sorbet, grinds flax for my Flax Bread and makes my daily Green Smoothie.
