Vitamins for Prediabetes

Vitamins for Prediabetes: Part 1 of 2

A lot of ladies ask me — Joan, do I need Vitamins for Prediabetes? I’m sure you’ve seen dozens of websites talking about many vitamins and things that will supposedly restore you to blood sugar control bliss and make you effortlessly drop all that stubborn weight. Is any of this true?

Well, one thing’s for sure…there’s no end to the list of supplements out there. And there’s more added every year!

All of this can be overwhelming, to say the least!

And when you add in the silly internet ads for quick fixes and magic bullet solutions about eating strange things you’ve never heard of, well, I get it if you really don’t know who to trust.

I mean, you probably remember growing up with people taking nothing more than vitamin C and maybe a multivitamin. Those were simpler times, for sure.

The Science Behind Vitamins for Prediabetes

Here’s the deal… I’m only going to tell you about vitamins that have been studied a lot — over years and years of rigorous study.

And proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.

My years of studying nutrition have taught me to stick with the science. That’s why I don’t mention any weird fruits or roots from South America. There just isn’t enough research, and I want you to be safe.

Just real vitamins, minerals and other things your body makes, but needs more of.

The Facts About Blood Glucose & Weight Problems

Research studies have shown there are deficiencies of specific vitamins and minerals in people with blood sugar and weight issues.

And the research shows that taking these specific vitamins and minerals has been proven to make a difference in blood sugar control, insulin sensitivity and weight loss.

But there are many more supplement companies that claim to fix blood sugar control problems with their in-house supplements, colored drinks and smoothie powders. These products simply have not been studied with rigorous independent research with large groups of people over many years.

Stay away from these companies that sell their wares online, only from their website and ‘distributors’ that claim to be your nutrition coach.

So what do I tell the ladies I work with who want to avoid diabetes?

Simply this: you can enjoy a healthy balance between:

(a) thinking you have to know about or take every supplement out there, and

(b) thinking vitamin C and a multivitamin is enough.

I’ve Made It Easy And Given You The Best Option

To make things easy for you and to save you having to dedicate an entire shelf to supplements, in THIS post, I’ve given you what I consider to be the best blood sugar control and weight loss combination to take based on real independent scientific research. And there’s only four things!

Plus, in my NEXT post, I’ll summarize each individual vitamin, mineral and supplement you need to know about so you can learn what each one does and why you need to take it.
